As a little girl I told people I wanted to be a Librarian, so the idea of a Bibliotherapist – when I first discovered the term in 2022 – sounded incredible.

Earlier this year, a group of counsellors, library professionals, psychologists, academic wellbeing specialists, community workers and reflective readers gathered in Brisbane for the Building Bibliotherapy Skills training.

This session will explore how literature can be used as a reflective practice of care — opening space for meaning-making, strengthening human connection, and supporting wellbeing in health-focused library settings.

It’s a joy to be part of this gathering of educators, leaders and wellbeing practitioners who are working to create learning environments where care, creativity and connection can flourish.
